This is an incredible original example of a Breitling 817 from the 1970's. The watch is in excellent condition with a beautiful original dial, case and bezel. The Ref 817 is run by the Valjoux 236, 17-Jewel manual wind movement. The watch comes on its original flex bracelet. These Breitling 817's are known as they were issued to the Italian Army.This Breitling 817 was ordered by and custom manufactured for the Italian Military (Escerito Italiano E.I.) for issue to their helicopter pilots. The watch was made in a very small numbers are rarely comes up for sale. This watch is in great condition as can be seen from the photos. What adds the proverbial icing to the cake is the original . Breitling’s 817 with its 39.5mm case is a CP-1 and while today is a wonderful collectible chronograph, during its usage pilots complained about the manual wound movement and small round pushers, which were difficult to engage with gloved hands.
